at first my intention was to get an hdc3, with my brutus amp, but i think i would be better of with 2 of these, i want an spl setup while still retaining some sq, i think the box that i would like to make for them is as follows:

h=27

L=36

d=19.5

the gross for that is around 11 ft^3

so take away .75" for mdf and sub displacement and port i would say off the top off my head around 6.5ft^3 give or take a little.

i only understand how to tune a box to 40hz:crap:

i going to have the subs facing up and the port facing back, but i want it along the bottom of the box, width wise.

probably tune 33-36 hz anywhere between there, can anyone help me with the dimensions or at least tell me how???

6.5-cubes + Two 15" L7's does not = SPL. That box is far too small..

well i can go bigger, but only if i don't get in trouble for not being able to see out my back window..lol, how big do i need minimum to have these pound decent, i am only upgrading from 2 12 type r's

I wouldn't go any smaller than what you have now.. I think 3 cubes is what Kicker recommends for a compact enclosure.. L7's like a lot of room..

well, if i go with:

h=29

w=38

d=19.5

that gives me 12.44ft^3 gross

i don't know what the speaker would actually see but i will most likely do this.

can any one help me design the port area and the dimensions of it tuned around 35hz, assuming the port is facing back, width wise at the bottom??

I wouldnt do less then 4 cubes and 60 inches port area for a 15" l7, but thats me. Some will tell you diff but generaly they do well in between 4-6 cubes each and 60 to 80 ish ports.

Mine is in ~3.5 cubes after displacement and it's loud. Scores in sig.

i found this calculator for vent length,

http://www.carstereo.com/help2/Articles.cfm?id=31

the bottom one

i want to make sure it is accurate and im using it right.

so in my previous post i had 12.44 gross thats 11.33 without the mdf so i put that in the enclosure volume area. then i put the tuning at 35hz then i went with slot port, but i want the port width wise at the bottom-back of the box so i set the hight to 5in and width at 36.5 and it gave me a length of 6.04 inches, does this sound good or should i make the port size different???

this should help. put in you dim. and change the sq port length to 5 and you should get 8.059 cubes at 34 hz
for this calculator if i wanted the port on the bottom of the box instead of the side would i just be able to switch the width and hight to make it look like the box is sitting on its side and still be ok???

and also is this a pretty accurate program???
