Suggest a sub for a truck

Soon I'll be driving a 2001 Toyota Tacome Xtracab, so I finally have some space to play with.

Here's what I've settled on so far for a new system:

HU - An old Pioneer Premier DEH-P78 (still kicks ***)

Amp - Kicker KX700.5 (one 5-channel amp to power it all)

Mids/Highs - 4 Polk DB570's (best overall sound I heard at Circuit City)

The above specs will not change and I want to keep this as simple as possible. But I also want to know that the components complement each other.

I listen to rock strictly so I'm looking for something with a focus on quality first (good sounding lows, the lower the better even), loudness second. This amp can deliver roughly 400W RMS to a 2 Ohm load.

What its got to be: 12'', 2 Ohm (dual coil or 2 Ohm native), Able to sound nice in a sealed box and of course, work well with 400W RMS. Please dont recommend anything I'd have to go out of my way to obtain, I plan to buy something of Ebay.

With that said I've looked at Type R's, Fosgate Punch Stage 2's and a few other decent subs. Currently I'm leaning toward the Type R's, but I need some assurance, please help.

Thanks

bump it up

come on guys need a suggestion, I cant really audition a bunch of different subs. 12'', sealed box, 400W and best sound quality for about $200.

What's everyone recommending currently?

Any suggestion from fellow rock or metal heads is appreciated.

well for my friends next setup in a truk its gonna be:

Diamond Audio D6 12"

herd its up there with the RE SE around 180 off ebay

edit:

y am i giving you al that useless info?

I hate you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Just picked up 96... love it. Maybe a JL 12w3v2? I'll ley ya know how my 12 type r sounds once I buy everything else and get it installed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Hopefully I have some time to throw the xxx in as well.

It's gonna cost me about $50 more, but I've had good experiences with JL in the past.

Does anyone know if these W3's use a rubber surround or is it still JL's good ol' foam material?

I've read some good things about these ID subs since researching my current setup. However I feel the JL W3 is better suited to handle the power I'm going to be delivering it. I know under normal conditions it wont be playing it at max rms power, but I dont want a sub thats gonna crap out if I decide to give her all she's got.

Back in 1999 I owned a pair of 12W6's and gave them 375watts a piece. They played hard enough for me. The W6 has since gone long way from what I remember it being. It appears the W3 is more what the W6 use to be. Anyone else agree with this?

no the W3 is still lesser than the old W6 I believe. At least in terms of output.

Couple suggestions if your tight on space.

Adire Koda 10" (coming soon) or Soundsplinter RLI-10. I was also looking at the DLS Iridim sub for my truck but could not find an info on it.
