Soon I'll be driving a 2001 Toyota Tacome Xtracab, so I finally have some space to play with.
Here's what I've settled on so far for a new system:
HU - An old Pioneer Premier DEH-P78 (still kicks ***)
Amp - Kicker KX700.5 (one 5-channel amp to power it all)
Mids/Highs - 4 Polk DB570's (best overall sound I heard at Circuit City)
The above specs will not change and I want to keep this as simple as possible. But I also want to know that the components complement each other.
I listen to rock strictly so I'm looking for something with a focus on quality first (good sounding lows, the lower the better even), loudness second. This amp can deliver roughly 400W RMS to a 2 Ohm load.
What its got to be: 12'', 2 Ohm (dual coil or 2 Ohm native), Able to sound nice in a sealed box and of course, work well with 400W RMS. Please dont recommend anything I'd have to go out of my way to obtain, I plan to buy something of Ebay.
With that said I've looked at Type R's, Fosgate Punch Stage 2's and a few other decent subs. Currently I'm leaning toward the Type R's, but I need some assurance, please help.
Thanks
