sugestions for z2 install

just got i pioneer avic-z2 for my 2000 crown victoria. in order to get it to fit i had to cut away the bottom part of the stock radio location because the air vents hit the top of the unit and didnt allow it to slide all the way in to the radio slot. now my problem is that they do not make an install kit for this unit to fit my car. it just barely fits in the stock location. has anyone else installed this unit and had this problem? is there something that i can buy to help support the unit in the stock radio location? or does anyone have pics of a custom install that they did using this unit?
