hey guys, i'm working on putting together a system for my g/f's son. his 1st system. and i know i'm gonna get the answer of "build it yourself is the only way". we're getting a 1243d type R and a kicker 750.1 to push it. i've found http://http://www.amazon.com/OBCON-Single-Hidden-Chamber-Hatchback/dp/B001PBLNJA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278104355&sr=8-2 it's a 4.1 cu ft. enclosure is this too much air space where it'll kill the performace?

yes 4.1 is too big i would build you own 2.25 cubes tuned at 35

That box looks like an ABC box and if it is, functions differently then a 4.1ft ported box would. I built an ABC that was 3.75ft combined volume and used it with a single Type R 12 and a few thousand watts (didn't clamp it, but my D9 @2ohms) and it worked great.

You might want to call Obcon and ask if it's an ABC or standard ported box because a 4.1 ft3 ported box would be too big for sure.

http://http://www.rtboxes.com/sub-boxes-woofer-manufacturer-gz-755-12/ yeah it says it has hiden chambers and doesn't seem like a standard port. i know a str8 standard 4.1 would be too big that's why i asked about this one in paticular. thanx think i'll call and ask about it's guts.
