Yes, you heard right, subwoofers do put out power or watts. All power is is the ability to do work over time. Subwoofers do put out work over a period of time, hence they do put out power. This power is in a different form than normally thought of, it is not electrical power, it is mechanical/acoustical power as well as heat. Due to the laws of physics the subwoofer actually has to put out as much power as is being put into it, so a subwoofer receiving 1000 watts of electrical power is putting out 1000 watts of combined mechanical and thermal power. Just felt like posting this for you all.

Subwoofers convert energy. Very different than making power.
Nowhere did I say they made power. And in fact NOTHING makes power in this universe anymore, it is all energy conversions. All the energy in the universe was there from the start, it is now just converting the form that that energy takes.
