Well I think I could give the HDC3 at least ~1200w with my 1606D.

It's really up to you. Depends if you want sound quality or spl. Though honestly, I still think that with that much power the Q might be just as loud as the hdc3 or close to it.

The hdc I heard was off a sundown sae 1500 with good electrical, so it was probably seeing 1600-1700.

Either way, you should see a nice improvement over your type arghhh =)

I hate it when people make guesses at how much power a sub is getting because it had "good electrical" There are so many factors involved in how much power the sub actually sees. Your theory only would hold water if the person was playing (most likely 0db 50hz tones) then it would be at 1500w if he/she tuned it to that. Most music is -6db so that supposed 1600-1700w wouldnt even remotely be possible unless they tuned a 0db 50hz tone to over 2300w RMS.. NOT LIKELY..

So if a 0db tone was used, then on daily music the sub on average will only see 1100w and even lower depending upon the track.

not bashing but people need to know.

I know there are many factors that determine what the sub is actually going to see. But your post is almost completely irrelevant, because by that same logic then, he will most likely only be sending the sub 700-800watts. The point is, I think he's a bit short on power (though it will suffice) and the fact that the sub I heard was only really seeing "1100" doesn't matter at all.

I think the OP knew what I meant when I said the sub was running off of 1600-1700.
