Subwoofer Thump

I just starting experinencing a strange issue. When I turn my car on and even some times when I turn it off the sub thumps. It just started all of a sudden. I use a PAC sub volume control so I don't knowif it has any thing to do with it or not. I've had the sub control for a little while and it never did it before,it just started doing it. Any ideas??

it could be a ground issue.

my PC sub does that whenever i turn it on, for a while my car sub was doing that, something weird with RCA grounding, signal to speaker amp somehow got sent to sub amp and caused it, after unhooking and rehooking up the RCAs, it went away.

Interested to see what the cause is on this, a bud wants to get rid of his 'thump'.

Ok this is weird. Now I can hear the thump when I roll my power windows up and down. It never did this before!! What could I do to try to fix it??

RCA grounding/amp grounding?

I guess I can try to find a different ground for the amp. Is it ok to run a long ground? Maybe 2-2.5'???
