Subwoofer terminals melting

We all learn sometime. Some sooner then others. No hate only smiles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Reading is fundemental. We started out as such. I didn't have the internet back then like we do now.

He claims to have 20+ years behind him. I doubt that....and wouldn't be asking silly questions/making rediculous comments.
Yeah... My first reaction was to jump right on the "dog pile"... LOL!... but I saw that once he asked the second question... he was really lost... electrical troubleshooting may be a subject that he'd be better off starting threads about instead of offering "Advice"... but I thought maybe he had taken enough of a beating these last 2 weeks... so I tried to answer it in a simple way... yes... seeing "advice" so far off the mark constantly begs to be shut down... IDK... maybe I'm really a softie?... LOL!

Like said, use OFC speaker wire. Also, terminal cups are not ideal.

Ditch the capacitor too.

Mounting the amp case directly to metal won't hurt anything. Your amp's case may be internally grounded anyways.

i just think ya'll aren't getting what i'm saying i know the fuse on batts is to prevent fires........ i'm saying fuse on amp or at amp (if amp don't have fuse) is to protect amp right???????????? so if amp says 200a fuse i would use that not a higher one thats all..

Go with what's recommended. Your overcomplicating things.

My current enclosure has one and no issues....https://www.parts-express.com/speaker-terminal-cup-gold-insulated-5-way-binding-post-high-power--260-244

Steve Meade actually created some that are quick-release so If he uses them, why can't other people.?!

i did say fuse at amp not battery., i have had a fuse blow before i wasn't in a wreck and car wasn't on fire, any time a wire touches something could cause a short, so it's for more than just a wreck is what i'm saying.. i have said in the past i called fd because i saw a car trunk on fire at stoplight guy in car didn't know it was on fire i went to stop light he was out then told him i called fd he said "da*n stereo" so thank god i'm not as stupid as ya'll seem to think i am..

Amps with on board fuses, if the amp shorts out/blow up the fuses on it should blow so its doesn't keep being fed power and start a fire.
