2 12" RD Classics, Massive CW, TC-9, Re Subs, etc. which would anyone choose if they were to choose the lowest price ones for the best quality speakers? does anyone know which to choose?

I have a custom 12" TC9 I'd sell for $250 shipped. It's beefier than the ones on TC site (Mine has stiffer spiders and can handle around 1200W RMS). All-black motor assembly, black 4-spoke basket, black cone, carbon fiber dustcap. Never installed.

I love my 2 12" Fi Q's. I compete in IASCA SQ and the judges so far agree. First show scored 16 points out of 20. More tuning and they will score better, can't beat the price though. What i dont understand is everyone sooo concerned about a driver that plays such a small portion of the audio spectrum.

Because that small portion can add a HUGE impact and a lot of people like/prefer that.

So it's not a total thread jack I'd also throw the RL-P's into the mix. I think they have better SQ then the Q, not that the Q sounds bad, just not as tight IMO...

The SSD with the copper coil is turning out to be a favourite when compared sonically to the Q, by many people. That might be a more affordable but great option for you.

Honestly, I think looking at midbass is much more critical than subwoofers, but that's just my opinion. Find a sub that is affordable and doesn't sound terrible, cross it over low, and begin the hunt for the perfect dedicated midbass speaker.

I'll second the Fi's.

Also, atsaubrey, I agree mlstrass; very few care about sq, and most just want their system to pound. There's no regard for midbass/subbass integration. Heck, my sub is cut at 63hz and SQ guys still consider that too high for LP. Though my midbasses can handle below that, I just have a preference not to.
