If I were to go with an 18" sub would this still be able reproduce higher musical notes. I guess it what I am asking is I mainly listen to rap/hip hop/r&B but by going with an 18 would the sound get a little sloppy. I plan on buying a sub targeted for a daily driver and supplied with 2000wats rms. Some of my choices are:

AA Havoc

DC Audio lvl 4xl

SSA XCon

Would I be better off with a 15" or can a 18" do just as good.

All the 18" sub installs ive done had a fairly flat response. I did a RD sonance V.2 18" tuned to 36hz and it sounds great, and i also did a HDC3 18" tuned at 38hz in a wall.

Open screw holes sound like a little muffler, loose box panels sound like a massager on a wooden table.
