Subwoofer Recommendation

I'm looking at getting some new subs. I recently had 3 10 inch Polk Dxi's in a sealed box running on a kenwood 1800 watt amp. I took them out because they just sounded loud and annoying and couldn't hear my music. I still have the box for those.

I was looking at some Sundown E-10's or maybe getting 2 SA 12's. Anyone have any suggestions? My budget is about 400-500.

If you're willing to upgrade amps I would to two of those sa 12's on a soundqubed 2200. I've heard that setup in person in a trunk build and it was nasty loud and sounded very nice

I currently have two sundown zv4 15's on a sundown saz 4500 and its the best setup I have owned. Sundown makes very nice products and you wont be disappointed

The sundowns will be a lot louder than the polks.. just keep them and turn down the gains on the amp.

I recently bought a pair of Sa 12's in a 3.5 cubic ft box tuned to 36hz. Currently have them wired to 1 ohm on an aq2200 (same as the sq2200) and it is crazy loud. They take power way over what they're rated for and sound good doing it. I like them better than the 2 soundqubed hds312's I bought last weekend, but they're also in different boxes so hard to compare

Yea, just turn down the gain if they're overpowering your mids/highs.

People are recommending stuff that is better/louder. If your front stage won't keep up with the polks, you'll be even more unhappy with a louder substage.

I have an SUV so my subs will not be in an enclosed trunk. I want my subs to sound clear and relatively loud so I guess the ultimate question would be should I get the 3 E 10s in my sealed box or get 2 SA twelves in a ported or sealed?

better statement is, you like how subs sound and pound in a proper box rather than garbage box.
