Hi everyone. I have a Sundown SA-12 D4 REV.3 hooked up to a vintage Kole Audio HK980-2 amplifier. Also hooked into a crossover (bass/sub only).
This past week I've had this issue: I get in, start up, start bumping tunes and all the sudden the sub output power is cut in half or even less. This will happen after 1 song, right away, or randomly. I have never had this issue before. All wiring is good, fuses not blown, volt meter is a good 13.5 as usual, and nothing is melting. Ive tried adjusting crossover as well with no results. So I'm thinking it's the Kole amp but not sure. Have been using this setup for over a year with no issues until now.
ALSO: This happened 20-30 mins after driving today. Shut off car for several mins, and within 2-3 minutes of it being back on and kicking bass, it happened again. The amp is cooled by fans and not hot. Could this be a bad capacitors inside the Kole amp?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
