Hey guys I have bee researching this for a couple weeks now and I have gotten alot of useful information but I have a few questions. I have a 2001 pathfinder and I has the factory bose sytem still installed. I am trying to integrate an aftermarket sub and amplifer into the bose system. I was planning taking the signal for the amplifier from either:
1) Pre amp outputs on the stereo
2) Speaker wires after the rear bose amplifier
From what I measured in my car it looks lie the pre amp level on the bose stereo is around 10 volts AC RMS. I read in a forum online that in order to convert the bose pre-amp level to and RCA preamp level for the amplifer I will need a balanced differential converter like this one:

the only problem is that it is not for sale anymore.
- Will it be better to tap the amplifier signal off the pre ampsignal or the speaker level signal?
From what I understand the bose amplifiers may be filtering out unwanted lower frequencies that I would want for my subwoofer. This is why I am interested in using the pre-amp signal.
Will the following line converter work to knock down the pre amp signal to an acceptable level for the amp?
