Subs to amp install, need help!!!

i would like to hook up 3 subs to a 2 ch amp. and was wondering how would that be done...right know i have 2 12's and want to add another 15". each 12" sub is connected to a ch.

dont mix and match different brand/model/size subs.

Yeah forget that idea. Either sell the 12's and get another 15 or sell the 15 and get a third 12. and make sure that theyre all the same brand/model number.

why isnt it good to mix subs...my buddy has 2 12" and 2 10" subs, runnin off a mono amp...

does it still matter if its off a different amp?

It really doesn't matter. But the efficiencies, volume, frequency ranges etc will all be different and the system could be difficult to tune.

To answer your question depends on what impedances the subs are (2 ohm, 4 ohm, single or dual coils, etc) and what the output impedance capabilities of the amp are.

the 2 12's are kaption HD-124/8 (250 watt) they are setup as 4ohm. and the 15" is a orion 500watt, i think its a dvc...not sure...and the amp is a crappy 1000watt xplode 2 ch.

you can wire whatever ohm speakers together. it will just give you a funky ohm ohm load and you amp might not be able to run at that weird load.

the 12s are

the amp is a Sony XM-2165GTX

the the 15" is a orion (500watt)...dunno the model #....but who cares, its not like it matters
