well the part about power and enclosure is wrong and the sub excursion and enclosure is wrong.I'll have the gain down. I just don't wanna run the risk of blowin up my subs. I know that with ported boxes you have to be careful. Someone on this site also told me that in a ported enclosure you should only power your subs about half their rating. So if they do 500RMS and 1000Peak. You should run about 5-600 watts at most to the subs in a ported box. In a sealed you could run about 750 daily. You get more sub movement in a ported box than you do in a sealed. So you run a greater risk of bottoming it out or blowing it.
Now that could be totally off, but I hope that answers your question.
Well that's exactly what I feared about going with ported is not getting the low end. I like sealed because my focus is more on feeling the bass, than it is on being loud and more pressure on the ear.type Xs ****...id def do ported, your just not going to get the lowend.. someone suggested PRs which is perfect for such an application.. give me the maxium dimentions.. im sure we can help you with a better substage..
go ported...Well that's exactly what I feared about going with ported is not getting the low end. I like sealed because my focus is more on feeling the bass, than it is on being loud and more pressure on the ear.
And you mentioned "PRs". What does that stand for?
yes. search on here and you will see that people say they love the lowest notes, they arent extremely loud, but sound real nice and go low. handle alot of power tooPapermaker, just said that type X's ****. I guess it's just all up to your opinion. Do you have any experiences with type Xs in a sealed box.

gonna get the JL grundel-nuggets started in here if you aren't careful....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh:What is it with people these days assuming that if it isn't an obscure internet brand that it can't be good? It's like the useless scenesters and "underground" music people. If someone knows about the band other than yourself, then it can't really be good. It needs to be obscure to be a proper band, and the same applies here. I own subs from Alpine to Volfenhag and everything in between. On my left is a JL 8W7, on my right as my computer sub is an Image Dynamics ID8, in my car is a Dayton RS HF-8, in my bedroom in Indianapolis is a Fi Q. 15, as my computer sub there I have a Peerless XLS, and in the closet there is a 10" Type X, a 10" Type R, a Fi SSD 10", a RE8, a 12" Kicker L5, and sitting downstairs in my home theatre here is another Dayton RS HF, but a 12". Why? Because each speaker was suited for each application for a reason not because of the brand, but because of its performance. Note that I am not bragging about my collection as there are people here with collections 4x greater than mine in just ONE room of their home, but the point is that people on here really should start looking at speakers for how they perform, not because they're obscure. If you have the knowledge to build a proper enclosure and do a proper install, you using an AA Havoc over a W7 won't be a walkover in the slightest like people on here seem to think it is. Just use your head, not the fact that you want to beat the mainstream with a smaller company's products. That's all.gonna get the JL grundel-nuggets started in here if you aren't careful....
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifWhy do you want a sub to play that low in a car? I can understand in a home theater setup with LFE and what not. Not much music contains frequencies that low. and as for this sub vs. that sub "killing the lows". It's a farking subwoofer, it freaking better "kill the lows", or that bish will be a paper weight in a hurry. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
