I don't remember if they were in with Anaba...Swiss Audio and Clif Designs wasExsite was in with Audiobahn weren't they?
You realize those subs are almost 15 years old now, right?the flat-coned ppi subs
Well honestly, almost every sub that was popular (or now is popular) has very little innovation to it, and the reason the popular subs change has more to do with dollars and audio politics than it does technology. Technology is expensive and usually focused on improving sound quality; unfortunately many of the members here are cheap and uninterested in good sound.
Especially in car audio, there is suprisingly little complex engineering done, and even less R&D.
Epic lulz.no never, they are just harder to get after the factory was destroyed when the tested one to 10% power.
i dont think anybody would spend 7000$ on a sub alone, thats whyWha about the 22" MTX, this sub had lots of talk and it stopped all the sudden.
I understand where you are coming from, but if we are looking at this in terms of many years, as lot of the drivers being mentioned here implies, I have to disagree. Car audio subwoofers, for one example, have come a long way since the days when I first got into it. A PPI Pro is a good example, in its day it was fairly technologically advanced. Ferrofluid cooling, flat carbon fiber/nomex cone, proprietary basket... the things that made it unique and stand out. But by today's standards, for the average guy's sq sub the ppi pro is pretty lacking in comparison to current bl optimized, long excursion and small enclosure intended subs. Has anyone reinvented the wheel? No. But enough changes over time that the enthusiast will want to 'upgrade', and generlly for good reason.Well honestly, almost every sub that was popular (or now is popular) has very little innovation to it, and the reason the popular subs change has more to do with dollars and audio politics than it does technology.
