You statement about a 12" blowing with rock is ludachris.

I "think" he didn't mean blow, like ruin the sub. but as in the **** with rock. then it makes more sense, still not right but a understandable mistake

good attitude still for a person asking advice. I coudl see maybe ruynning a 10 and a 12 in a boat SAY if you had a cabin style cruiser, install the 10 in the cabin and the 12" out on the deck.

I would still go with a couple 12"s over mismatching then having to switch it all the time for each song.

I do not think you heard "good" equipment setup correctly or you would not agree with this.

Ya know i really like this forum, i get alot more responses and quicker then on carstereo.com forum board, im sorry if i sound like a know it all and all, im just a little pissed today and needed a quick answere, i hope my first post didint get us all off to a bad start cuz im not a know it all, i wish i knew it all cuz i love car audio, thats why im here, just trying to learn a thing or 2........ so instead of arueing over sub sizes can someone just say yes or no the the switch idea?

Couldn't you just put the switch on the remote wires (if you have 2 amps) and that way you could control which amp turned on for whatever song you would be playing? I think that would make more sense than putting a switch on the ground.

Edit: NVM reread first post, I think it would work, but seems a little gheto-rigged for my liking.

are you asking if you can put two subs on the same amp, and just have a switch for them to be running? yes you can do this. but if you have 2 different subs, you will most likely have two different amps. so putting the switch on the remote would be the best place for it. that way, you won't have both amps on and running at the same time.

if you want to use one amp, then it is possible to wire up the switch on the speaker wire, but i think that it would be better to have two amps. that way each sub is getting proper power and proper settings, without having to adjust it each time you put a new song on.

in short, yes.
