Hey all.
I have an 18'' Fi BL, powered by a Hifonics Bxi1606D, with a Power Acoustik 2 Farad cap(ya i know i know). I had no system for a little while but kept the wiring ready for a new system, and kept the cap installed. I recently (about 3 weeks ago) installed the new Fi and Hifonics equipment.
In doing so I just hooked it up with the cap pre-installed from the last time, without "charging" the cap, just to see if the cap would charge itself, or w/e. It worked fine for about a week, then my sub started cutting in and out. The sub would just go out for days at a time, then come back on for 5-10 minutes randomly.
So i decided to get back there and take a look, and I noticed that the cap is flashing zero for a read-out. Could this be the reason the sub doesn't seem to be getting any power? I thought of this because every time the sub came back on, the cap read-out actual numbers.
So could the cap be causing this? I have been meaning to take that **** thing out anyway. Thanks a lot.
