subs making that infamous popping noise

so im running 2 american bass xfl 15s off a audioque 2200d at 1 ohm, so they are seeing about 1000 wrms each and they are rated for 1000 wrms, they are in a 5.7 cu ft box tuned to 30 hz

my sub amp settings are: (gain 3/4) (bass boost 0) (lpf 1/2) (sub sonic 30hz)

the only thing i can think of the noise as being is bottoming out and it only makes the popping noise on higher notes. i dont think its clipping because i only have my deck at 24 and it goes to 35 so does anyone have any other ideas of what it could be besides bottoming out?

thanks

Is the gain set with a DDM? Any air leaks in the box, Subs tightly screwed down
no i did not set it with a DDM because i havent got one yet but there is no air leaks and the subs are screwed down tightly

until you get your hands on a dmm i would dial down the gain a bit. do the RCA's/power wire cross or come close to being in contact?

yah they start to smell after a while of playing, but when i turn the gain down until the noise goes away they arent even that loud
youre clipping them to hell then. turn your gain down to like 1/2 or 1/3 until you get a dmm, and raise the volume no further than 29 or 30

no the rcas and power wire arent close at all but the only thing is that it doesnt sound that loud when i dial the gain down and turn the volume up

Smelly means your clipping them.. Is your electrical upgraded to power that amp. The issue im going through now might be the same
yah im running a 250 amp alt and 2 d3100s in the back with all 0 gauge and the big 3 done in 0 gauge

lol know i think its just not loud enough for me and i might need some subs that can take more power so i can strap my other 2200d up and be running around 4400 wrms
for the time being turn down your gain a little bit cause clipping can kill amps as well
