Subs Just Shut Off! Help Please

Well I was driving along the other day and all of a sudden my subs just stop working. I have 2 12" Mtx 8500 Thunders Powered by a 801D Mtx Amp. I figured maybe the amp just overheated and needed to be cooled down so I let it sit a couple days but nope the subs still arent going off. Can anyone help

X2 you could of just blown some fuses

Check the fuses.

See if the amp comes on.

Check the coils via using a dmm to see what resistance they are giving.

If they are fried and the amp wont turn on, basically everything is ruined.

and if the amp is not coming on...check the fuses like they said and also if your gains were set too high you might have fried the mosfets... but thats repairable

check the remote turn on with a test light to see if it has power. also check the power cable and the ground cable.

I did check the fuses they seemed fine. How do I repair the mosfets? Is it something I can do or a professional? I didnt check the remote turn on maybe something came lose ill check that when I get off of work today. Power and ground wires are good ive checked them.

yeah check the remote turn on maybe something came lose or maybe your hu isn't putting out power to the remote.

open up your amp. Check the board for ANY charring. i'm assuming you know what a mosfet looks like and if you dont then there's plenty of pictures online of them. now repairing them if you have soldered *spelling* to electrical boards before then you probably could do it. but i would probably have someone else do it for you. if you have a caraudio shop around you, ask them if they could do it. if that fails then just call mtx they're usually pretty nice and will lead you to the right place to go for it.

Do that.

Also take your remote wire out.

Put a wire in the the + side of the amp and then put it straight to the remote turn on and see if anything happens.

Thanks Guys. I Think Its The Remote Turn On Cause I Went Home And Took The Remote Wire Off Of My MTX404 Amp And Put It On The 801D And Nothing Happened. Now My Subs Aint Wokring Or My Speakers So I Think Something Is Lose.
