Subs Just quit working? Urgent

I have a pair of 12" audiobahn subs that are rated at 1000 watts RMS. I decided that I was going to sell them because it was just too much bass for me. I boxed them up and put them in the garage for a few months and now my friend wanted to buy them. I hooked them up and they dont work at all. I checked all the connections and they are fine. I even hooked up another sub and that was fine. For some reason they dont even make a sound. I even hooked them up the a house receviver and all I could get out of them is a little bit of audio but the subs dont even vibrate the slightest. Its just odd that they worked fine before I took them out and put them away. If they were even blown for some odd reason I would think they would make some sort of a beat. Its odd that both are not working at all besides the slight bit of audio that come through them. I tried a JBL 1200.1 amp and a 1100 watt kenwood class D amp. Anyone got a clue?

Its a bit scratchy. I hooked it back up and have been pushing a bit on it and it kicks in and plays longer. Seems to be getting a bit better. It looks like there may be moisture due to having them in the house and him putting them in his car in the cold weather. Im not sure if they are totally screwed yet or not. Any recommendations?
