subs hit weird

hey i have a prefabed box and my 15s are in it.its slot ported.and when the subs hit they sound really loose not tight and boomy.its weird...help...

the subs are brand new ma audio d4s.and i dont know how big the box is or what its tuned to.it just a basic slot ported box.the slot is in between the two subs.i dont under stand it hits like shit..and i have a 1300 watt rms amp pushing them.i used to have 4 crappy punchz 10s in a sealed box and they hit like two or three times harder then these 15s:crying:

now is this a common box for the prefabs.and if i get someone to build me a box with these spects how will it hit.(hard,low,etc)and is this a pretty big box.i have 2 sub not just one....

i imagine that you have already double and triple checked the wiring...?

it is kinda hard for any of us to say it's the box with out knowing the specs of it. can you measure the outside, then we can get the volume (assuming 3/4 mdf), and then pop out a sub and measure the port. we should be able to figure out the tuning from there....

i have an audobahn 1300hct mono.and i have the subs run at 1ohm....i mean when its a lil more then half way up you can kinda here the spiders flexing or something..is this bad.the box is huge.....

the box is made with half inch mdf and it measures

lxwxh 44x18.5x16.5

and the slot port is

lxwxh 3x14.5x15

well...the tuning is about 30-31hz...but 1/2"??? i hope you have a ton of bracing! that has to flex a lot! the vol and tuning seem ok, could use more port....maby the box flex is what's doing it?

1/2" mdf and/or air leaks may very well be the problem. Make sure they aren't wired out of phase.

well i went to some car stero shops and they checked my ohm load to the amp and it was 1ohm.well i know audiobahns hct1300 mono amp clames to be stable at 1ohm its not.thats what the main prob was.so i rewired it to 4 ohms:crap: so my subs are like only getting 300 watts rms:crap: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif .but it does sound good i still need to get a box made cause this one is two small.and it has air leaks all over.it sounds good inside the car.but i need to get louder.

i hear you..i got that amp like a yr ago off my buddy for like 100 bucks so iam not that mad.do you know any good amps that wonk break the bank that are 1ohm stable.with any were between 1500-2000wrms..
