i used to run three older re 8"s, 650 rms,one cube with a 3" x 10" port, stuffed with polyfill and it was good enough to turn a chip into this...

I'd go with RE 8s as well... I don't know about the 8s turning a chip into a spiderweb, but I love my 10 and you can't beat the prices on these things.
