subs for limited airspace? help

I will be building two sealed fiberglass, mdf topped boxes into the floor of my tundra double cab.

One box will be about .6 cubic feet and the other is about .44 cubic feet.

I would like to put two 8's in the .6 box and one 8 in the .44 box. I have a mounting depth of 4.5" max. I don't have an amp yet, so any 8" subs that will work well in limited airspace. I was looking at RE8's, anything else?

Is squeezing two in the .6 box too much?

Reccomendations please.

Thanks

Yea, .3ft^3 is really pushing it for airspace, especially when you count in the sub displacement in such small enclosures (you'd be looking at .5 total or lower). I suggest you do two .44ft^3 boxes, if you mix up the sizes it could mess with your SQ.

Yeah, I know. I wish I wasn't so limited, but there is absolutely NO room in my truck unless I want to sacrifice seating room. Or go the JL stealthbox way, but $1000 for a sub and box makes it hard.

Thanks for the input.

Your biggest problem really isn't airspace either, it's mounting depth. 0.44ft^3 is fine for an Assassin 8" (mine are in .35 IIRC), but that mounting depth is quite shallow. Pretty much all of the "good" small subs have beefy motors, so you're kind of out of luck there. =/

Yeah, 4.5 will hit the bottom. I might be able to get a little extra by beating the floor with a hammer, but I'd rather not do that. I was looking at the RE8's, any experience with those?

.6 would work with the RE 8's their sealed Optima box is .35 but they will work down to .2 but keep in mind you'll loose some with basket displacement....

Premier makes them in 8's ...I haven't tried them yet...I'm gonna try the Pioneer shallow mount 12 in the Pioneer prefab box...behind the seat of my Tacoma...I hope it works good...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
oh I didnt know that. Yeah I recommend the 12's. I have 3 of em and I was really impressed.

I have two of the 12's...but one is a Premier the other is a Pioneer...i'm gonna try the first one...if i like it....i'm gonna build a custom box for the pair....
I'm confused. Mine Pioneers say Premier on them.
