Well , I have been boasting my 10" Orion P series quite a bit to my cousin KJ.
He got his income tax refund and didnt want to break his bank so he went on ebay and bought a pair of Pyramid Imperial subwoofers. Since he got them so cheap he compulsively bought a pair of Hyper Pro subwoofers as well. He was about the purchase a prefab box to go with them but I argued that. After argueing that he shouldnt buy pyramid at all he ignored me but for building the box he agreed with me because we have all the tools, and he knows how adament I am about building a box and why it is so important. He just doesnt agree with paying so much for "QUALITY" .
This was almost two weeks ago from the time of this post !
Well the subs came in a few days ago, and so did his pyramid 1000W amps. He bought one for each pair of subs . The same amp !
I bragged about how my amp would put out far more than them quite a bit as we were building the boxes. The next day came, and we finished both boxes. While we werent working on the boxes we ran the power wire and prepared the electrial so everything would be waiting on the subs and box !
We even put liquid nails around the rim of the subwoofer to seal it that extra bit as for the Pyramid Imperials we put them in a sealed box. We descided to port the box for the 12" hyper pros just to change things up a bit and followed the manufactures specs.
Finally the time came, in the blazer were the Pyramid Imperials hooked up to that pyramid super blue amplifier. We turned it on , and began to listen to different songs before turning it up all the way to keep things anxious. Then WAM full throttle.. Those imperials were getting audibly loud and then we full throttled the volume. I have to say , for the cost of the entire system it got nice and loud ! They just didnt make things fall off the walls like my Orions do , because in his house when I pull up my Orions knock off a couple of pictures on the walls which I brag about alott. It didnt move the rocks on the 50 gallon drum either that my Orions do. BUT .... THEY ALMOST DO ! and he got them very very cheap. To think of it , he got both amps , both pairs of subs , and even a head unit for half the price I spent on my P series, and HCCA 250 Digital Reference.
NOW those hyper pros were a different story. They made things fall off the walls and sounded incredible. I cannot take anything away from those accept being in a ported box they were audibly as loud as my Orions, or his imperials , but thats suppose to be the normal difference from ported to sealed correct ?
He has bumped them subs out all night for 3 days pissing people off, and none of the amps have even got hot yet.
