Subs for an avalanche?

I just got an avalanche and I'm not sure what I want to put in it yet. My top 3 sub choices are DD, JL, and Kicker. I would like to keep the bose speakers and stock head unit for now, or would that just be too complicated and not worth it? Also, would it still sound as nice if I put the box (2 12's or 15's or something...) in the back or do I need them in the cab? Any advice on a loud, but aimed towards SQ setup would be helpful!

What kind of money are you looking to spend? Those brands are top notch, and any other their products will be great.

As for the subs placement, if you put them in the bed then you will loose a great amount of output, unless you do a blow-through (a large hole in the rear wall that the subs fire into from the bed.)

Yeah...I've seen an avalanche with a 3512 with a vinyl covering and it looked nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but I like having the option of folding down the whole back wall... Its probably the best way to go though.

As for the money, I don't really have a set price, but I think for the sub, amp, and installation would be around $1500....hopefully less haha...

you can get loud with that amount of money 1 dd9515 is about 700 ish orion 2500d u can find 1 for around 450 or so port in about 4.5 cubes at 3.5hz should wang

go with 2 XS-L100P5W's and a 150W to 200W per channel amp....it'll hit hard and you'll have about $1000 of your budget left over.....

I can actually get a 9515f for $450, but it was used for competitions, I would probably be stupid to turn it down haha...and I don't even know what those XS subs are...could you post a site or something?

Could I put the sub in the very back so I wouldn't have to take up the back wall? Or could I fit a couple 10's or 12's under the back seat?

you could fit 10'snder the seat but theyd probably sound bad since the enclousure is so small, my friend has an avalanche with 2 18" jl's in the back with a hardtop cover and a couple of batts in the back and god dammmmnn one of the first sytems i heard and it about suffocated me once i got in

i have an avalanche, 2 Fi q 15's and kicker 2500. The truck already has a blowthrough in it from the factory with a hardtop on it from the factory. you have 4 nuts you take off and the back wall comes out. you do not want to put the subs in the far back, b/c the way the seals are in the covers with them being 3 peices, with pressure buildup, you might cause a seal leak.
