Subs for 2012 F150 Supercrew Cab

I recently went to a high-end audio shop to discuss a system upgrade in my truck. My truck currently has the Sony System, which I think is horrible. Sounds tin-like. Anyway, I told the shop owner that I want good SQ, over SPL. I also told him I listen to the following type of music: Rock/Classic Rock, Alternative, Jazz, Metal, and electronic. He recommended two 8'' subs. I want something that is punchy, but can occasionally hit low when I'm listening to music. I like a lot of percussion, and I think a punchy-fast driver would be good.

What are your opinions on 8'' subs vs 10'' subs? I was thinking two 10'' shallow mounted subs driven by a ARC Audio KS300.2.

I've been away from car audio for about 12 years and it feels like I'm starting over. Anyway, your input would be greatly appreciated.

Any other opinions of 8'' vs 10'' for sq? Also, sealed vs ported?
youll just be louder but the same sub in the custom prpoer ported box sq will be similar. ported youll be louder but you will lose bandwidth and be strong in your port are but weak elsewear. sealed youll be less loud. if you can fit 2 10s id go that way
