//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif I just got 2 MA Audio HK120XC's put into my '03 G35, and they're running at 2 ohms with a Hifonics 1606d amp. When I turn on the car, the amp powers up, and I assume the subs power up as well?, hard to tell. No matter how much I mess with the volume and bass, I cannot get the subs to turn on for 5-10 minutes after my car is on. This problem developed in my last car, and I thought it may have been wiring, but obviously not since I got new wiring. I guess it could be the subs, but since they worked perfectly when I first got them (brand new), I figured it's unlikely that they both developed a problem at the exact time.

Do you think it's a problem with the amp's internal wiring? This problem's really annoying, any help is appreciated.

edit: before they fully turn on, the subs will turn on for a split second then go off if that's of any help

Did you 'install' this yourself? If not, just take it back and get them to fix it. It's pointless to give you advice if you don't know what you're doing.

If you did install this though, double check your wiring and as said above double check rca's to amp and back of headunit.

its pointless to give him advice when were are offering solutions and he just keeps bumping it and not trying. hes waiting for us to tell him there is a magic turn on switch next to the subs

what do you mean 'keeps bumping' i bumped 1 time. rca's are fine as i said this problem happened in my last car. if you're such an expert, tell me where to find the magic switch.

Lol you seem to have an obsession with MA Audio..

May I ask WHY? Just curious..

And there is no magic switch, and he realizes that, which is why he's an expert..

Anyways, look at his sig, he obviously knows more than you, no offense.. And your RCA's probably are NOT fine.. If you installed this and it happened in your last car, you're installing wrong, check your grounds.

I like MA simply because they're one of the best brands out there, and I got a great deal on my subs lol.

I'm aware that there's no magic switch. I don't care if he knows more than me, he didn't solve my problem. I appreciate his original input but it was not the solution. And I didn't install the system in my last car, I had it done professionally, so that's not the problem either.

The problem is your assuming it's a professionally done job. Unless you've done this yourself, and double AND triple checked the wiring, you obviously aren't going to know how to fix this. And you aren't going to even know whether the wiring is correct or not - you hear stories all the time of people who got a car wired poorly by "professionals".

What he said is right. You need to take this back to where you had it installed, and have them fix it. Either that, or you need to strip it all out, do it yourself, and do it right, and then see whether the problem remains.

And lol @ MA.

i said i had the LAST installation done for me. I did this one myself and have double checked the wiring. Since after the 1st, professional installation this problem did not surface for about 8 months then suddenly happened, and I did this job myself, it's not a problem with the job I did.

Not trying to say I'm infallible and I'm a wiring expert but it's not the job I did. I think it's either a problem with the subs or within the amp but don't know enough to diagnose it myself.

And why the lol @ MA, what do you use that's so superior to it??

Obviously this thread is going nowhere so w/e

maby you have a bad amp

the way to be for sure is take your 12volts + and ground and swap them around take the remote wire and hook it to the positive wire

this will show you if the amp is bad

on the real you have alot more to learn before you are going to be able to fix this
