SUbs dont play deep bass

I have two Type R 12's in a prefab vented box and they get loud but sound terrible I Get vertually no deep bass. I want deeper bass and better sound quality should I go with a big sealed box or get a ported box made for them ?

Since I've never heard type R's I will voice my input.

Get rid of the prefab box and make yourself a good ported box for them.

each sub gets about 1.5cuft each.. I get no deep bass maybe cuz the box is tune high or cuz is too small ?

1.5^ft, before or after displacements?

It may be tuned too high, which would make the lows seem less loud

If you're after more SQ and lower bass, you could always try a sealed enclosure. You can build oen for around 35 bucks with all the materials, never hurt to try

you'll want at least 2 cubes ported to like 32-28 htz... I'd think. If you want low bass, you gotta have a big box.

Or you could just go sealed...

i have 2 12" type r's too in with about 1.5 cb ft a sub after diplacement at 35 hz and its gets pretty low

Spend 35 bucks nad two hours of your time

Build a sealed box, see how you like it

You are having the same problem I am having. I get a hell of a lot of vibration but not alot of deep hard hitting bass. I have a 5.5 cubic foot box ported to 32hz.
