subs/amps rockford and jbl

i just bought two used Rockford Fosgate T212d4 power series subs in a ported box and i got a rockford 450.4 speaker amp for free in the deal. Now Someone offered me a rockford T1000.1 for 265 and i found a JBL

GTO24001 2,400W Mono Car Amplifier for $400. I have a 2001.5 passat w/monsoon system. First off any suggestions on the amp to power the subs?

and secondly if i were to get aftermarket door speakers and use the speaker amp and another amp for the subs, is that going to run my car to hard? HO alternator needed?

Well the T10001bd probably won't be enough power for the (2)T212D4's. Those subs need 1000WRMS each. It will work, but the subs are going to need a little more juice, like a T1500-1bd or something. That JBL mono amp definetely isn't going to cut it, especially if it's only rated at 400Watts.

The T10001bd and the P450.4 is going to draw quite a bit of current. So yes, you will prbably want to consider upgrading your electrical system. Start off with using quality 1/0AWG wire split to the two amps, upgrading your grounds and invest in good batteries. Then consider the alternator.
