The Probelm:
When my sub-woofer is plugged into my amplifier it just puts out a constant high pitch squeal/scream/whine/noise that happens even with the volume off. The noise will even happen when I unplug the RCA cable from the head unit to the amp. If the sub is plugged in to the amp, it will make this noise.
My Setup:
I have a head unit with 3 preamp outputs (front/rear/sub). The Amp is a PHOENIX GOLD XS 6600 I have a capacitor (not sure of size) and a single amp powering front/rear/sub. It is made to power front/rear/sub and the speakers work fine. The sub just spits out a constant squeal and no bass. Help me figure out the problem. Could it be a broken amp even tho the speakers work fine. Could there be a short or a grounding problem? Could the sub be blown? Or is it just a problem with capacitor or the wiring? Let me know if you guys have any idea. Thank you in advance!
