Sub sounds funny

Ok Im kinda of confused.

From what I hear from everyone is that Diamond Audio are really good subs, however so far I have been have some bad luck with these puppies.

First I had a Diamond Audio cm3 12" (300 watts rms) hooked up to a 2000 watt max volfenhag amp. I had it hooked up at 2 ohm bridged. Within about 2 weeks the sub was a goner. So I figured I get another one,but this time I got a D6 10 in a ported box bridged at 2 ohm hooked up to a 2000 watt max performance teknique amp. Now this one is makin a funny sound and after playing it for about 5 min the sub cuts off, however if you push on the cone of the sub it will start working again. I've checked all the wires and everythings look ok.

any ideas what it could be.

your blowing speakers because of improper gain setting and a crappy amp.

What's the rms rating of that amp, if it does 2000 max, you may be cooking the voicecoils. Where is the gain set at on the amp? 3/4 up? I think you are overpowering your subs and destroying them. Can you amp handle a 2ohm load bridged? not many are stable at that unless they are a class d sub amp, you may be getting your amp to shutdown because it can't handle the load. Most amps can only do a bridged load @ 4ohms (class d's usually excepted)

The amp can handle 2 ohm, as for the rms of the amp its 700 rms at 2 ohm. As for the gain its about half way. in fact all the settings are about half way. If these settings are wrong, help me out. What should the settings be at?

You need to go read the Gain setting tutorial in the amplifier section of the forum, and set your gains with a Digital Mulit-Meter, and turn off any bass boost or anything.

...even if you didnt kno what the amps RMS was...what makes you want to put 2000w max amp to a 300w RMS sub?Not trying to be an *******..but its just common sense even if the amp is waaaaaay overrated like they are.

as long as the gains are set correctly it dosn't matter how overrated the amp is to the rms of the speaker

but yes.. go read the gain setting tutorial.
