Sub recommendations for a small, low powered system...

I picked up a old RF Punch 60ix the other day and I need some advise on a good sub setup to run.

From what I have read the amp will do about 220~250 watts. I think a single 8 is what I want but very open to suggestions. At this point a sundown E series 8" is what I have in mind because of cost and it not needing a huge box. Doing a pair of 8s or 10s is also a option but I don't want to use up all my trunk.

This is going in a 95 camry. It is my work car that gets driven daily. I also have a old rf 3.2 that will be running some decent 2-ways in the doors. I need something better than deck power running stocker speakers. Thanks!

Image Dynamics ID8 V2. Works perfect in a .6 sealed enclosure or a .8 ported tuned around 34Hz. RMS is a little under rated. I had mine on roughly 300wrms@2 ohms.

Say what exactly does an 8" sub sound like? Is it more like bass guitar emphasized over kick drum or is it just the kick drum toned down?
Neither. Sub size doesnt dictate sound. The box and tuning does.

i have the E8 on 250 to 300 watts in a ported box tuned to about 33hz and its amazing, if you arent a serious bass head it will be perfect for you, it get loud and low enough for me
Nice. I am not looking for maximum SPL, just something that sounds good and that doesn't break the bank.

What would a SA8" do with low power? If I went with one then I would have a lot more options for future power upgrades.

Today I came up with a punch 100 dsm for FREE. So, it will be on the sub and the punch 60 on highs.

I think the SA8 V2 is now my first choice. Is there any reason this is not a good idea? Would I be better off with 2 E8s?

What to do...

I don't guess it has to be a 8. But I don't want a big box, I have a 1 year old kid so I need room for strollers and other assorted kid stuff.

I have read that the sundown 8s get pretty loud and the don't need a lot of space. If you have suggestions of other subs that like small boxes please do tell.
