I realize the fiQ18 ain't really what I expected. I do love how it hit low, but he's also really lacking in the upper range of what i want my substage to do. It lack output in the 50-80hz range so sometime, bass line just cut out were they shoudln't. I also tough it would sound nicer, but i haven't heard alot of "sq" sub in my life. Maybe i'm a little more into spl.... type r i had in the car prior were loud around this area

I want my next one to be 60spl/40sq and be able to take an bxi2006 at 1ohm without trouble. It will be ported for sure. I'll change car soon so i'm not sure i want a 15 or a 18 yet.. It need to be LOUDER than a fiQ 18inch... so yeah loud from 30-80hz.... without dropping before those freqs like the q.

Well i expect that answer.... does the bl or btl play really play higher ?

I guess i can't tune a Q at 35hz and expect it to play hard till 80hz

I would try adjusting your current enclosure to higher tuning to see if it gains output at higher frequencies. How much port area you have?

i've 3 x 4inch x 15inch aeros. Give me a 30hz tuning with my current box size.

since aero's are so cheap, try calculating a higher tuning and cut down the tube lengths.

fi don't recommand over 32hz with that sub... i'm just not a sq substage person it seems...

I would move past FI if you are looking for loud in upper frequencey. RE MX is not going to be your answer either. AQ HDC3s are worth considering, but I would really look into a 15" Nightshade. The amp you have will not phase it, it still sounds goods, and plays upper frequencies will also.

they are more than just spl. the dd's ive heard sounded great while getting pretty **** loud also. very clean sound
