Sub reading higher on one coil??

So I'm measuring two DVC 4 ohm subs. All the terminals read exactly 4 ohm on each coil, except one is reading near 20 ohms? Anyone got a clue?

The DMM is set on resistance so the settings are correct.

My SX does that also, but returns to normal once it warms up. It has been re-coned, and still does the same thing. It plays perfectly fine, but when cold the DMM readings are all over the place.

Yeah these things are cold and have been setting in the garage for a while.

i mean hook it to a receiver or amp and play it free air and see what it sounds like.

seems weird to me that 3 of the coils would read exact 4 ohms resting...i wonder what they read while warm

i put in a couple of really old rockford subs for a guy that had sat in a garage for a while, well one didnt play and I check it, like 20 ohms, let it play for a few minutes then it was all good
