Sub question and suggestion

Hello,

I want a SQ sub but want to get one that doesn't need a lot of trunk space. I had a old kicker s12d that wasn't quite doing the trick for me (and it got stolen).

I've been seeing alot about the Peerless XLS 12" and was wondering is it any good. Will you sacrifice a noticeable amount of SQ? Or should I just **** it up and get a W6 or something else?

I'll be picking an amp after I decide which sub to use. Thanks for any suggestions

image dynamics id idq idmax, ed k series o series, soundsplinter rl-p, ascendant audio atlas or avalanche will all sound great (depends on power and box) the w6 is an outstanding sub though just depends on how much you want to spend

Out of those, I would go with the IDmax, I was going to suggest it, but you didnt give a price range.

Thanks Guys, I was thinking of the IDMAX but I wanted a smaller box. My price range is around 5-6 for the sub and prob a bit more for the amp.

Given that the Peerless appears to only require a small volume I thought that would have been my best bet but then I didn't want to sacrifice too much sound though.

And yeah, I on;y wanted one sub since I need to retain alot of trunk space and the pass through that I have leading into the rear seats

That is a SPL sub man, an XXX would deffinitly not fit what he wants.

The SE or RE might do it for you though.

I woudl still say the IDmax.

Yeah, it just that the box requirements are a bit big @ 1.5 for a sealed. Will I sacrifice that much sound if I wanted to get a Peerless?

The IDMAX was on the top of my list but then it's just too big.

It'll goign into the trunk of an Accord, but I throw alot of fishing gear/crab net dead bodies and such so I need to retain as much room as possible. I was planning on utilizing the as much of the spare tire space without having to intrude too much into "useable" trunk space.

Soundsplinter looks intriguing, better than Peerless? Any sites you know of that has a review of that and the peerless?

idmax 12 can go into 1.1 cft sealed and if you wanna get tricky use it ib

Well.. If space is that much of a factor to you, then you might as well get a 10" sub. With the right 10", it could get plenty loud and have great SQ. The RL-P10 would be a good choice for this, they dont require too much room either.

And again, is this $500-$600 for the sub?
