SUB Ported Enclosure Volume

While not exactly scientific, I've noticed a bit of a pattern, true with most subs...

The largest recommended sealed enclosure tends to be pretty close to the smallest recommended vented enclosure... Increase that by about 50% and you should find the sweet spot.

...Or you could plug all of the ts parameters into a calculator to get a more "scientific" answer.

ok thanks alot for your observation mate!

do you know of a calculator that provides you the volume required for a ported enclosure for a sub using TS parameters???

thanks

thanks very much mate!!!!

i came up with the folowing results for my sub:

Ported enclosure optimum volume: 56.2liters (1.98cu. ft) tuned at 31Hz

Is 56.2litres the volume including the Port airm Subwoofer displacement, etc??? or the air needed without including the Port and sub????

So would 31Hz tuned box be good for Electronic music (and other music)??

thanks for your help

OK guys, i found all of the following:

ported box net volume: 56.21litres or 1.985 cu.ft Tuned t 31Hz

Sub displacement: 2.16ltres or 0.076 cu.ft

MDF to use: .75"

& all T/S params

HOW (LINK OR something) CAN I CALCULATE WHICH PORT AREA & PORT LENGTH TO USE????

if someone gives me some link or help for this quest i'll be almost there

thanks

that link you gave me is for Round ports and also you need to know the port size before hand!

i need something that CALCULATES THE PORT AREA BASE ON THE BOX VOLUME???!
