Sub plus amp question

I was just wondering if the Pioneer GM-D7400M (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Amplifiers/GMSeries/GM-D7400M?tab=B) is a amp that is to powerful for the Rockford Fosgate P2L-112 (http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=17&series_id=56&family_id=58&item_id=108298&locale=en_US&p_status=).

What I mean by to powerful is the max power handling I know that the RMS is the same but the pioneer amp is 800 Watts Peak Power and the Max for the sub is 400 Watts.

If it is then what amp should I go with?

PEAK or MAX specs are meaningless -- never, ever, refer to them again.

That sub will wire to a 4-ohm load, so you need an amp that does full power at 4-ohms... the Pioneer you linked to does full power at 2-ohms, so it's kind of a waste if you are just running one sub.

where did you get that info from for the amp?
