car amp in house?

i was just wondering, what does places like bestbuy, circuit city, sound advice (tweeter) use to hook up the caraudio amps and HU's in the building? do they just have a bunch of car batteries back there and keep them on a charger? is that safe if i had like a redtop or some other sealed battery in my house with a car amp?

no one laugh im just curious as to exactly how they do it lol:D

Huge power supplies...its really not economical to run a car amp in a home application. The power supply that would be needed (60 amp or better) costs just as much as a Home theater amp. But yeah basically there is one or 2 huge power supplies, and sometimes a bank of batteries (we have both at my shop)

Most likely they use a large power supply that can deliver hundreds of amps at a very stable voltage. Such power supplies are pricey...

You could put a sealed battery and have it work, but there are better ways of doing this if it's a permanent thing...like, buying a real home amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh i know i plan on buying the dayton 1000w plate amp when my wallet allows me too, but i was just curious as to hooking up a redtop and like a hifonics amp to a sub...lol

im not even gonna waste the money since i want it to be permanent...but the battery would work right? just gotta charge it after im done using it? is that safe having a battery and charger in house(if i did ever do this i wouldnt charge/etc while i wasent home...)

why's it gotta be sealed? i like the smell, and when i smoke as im charging the battery i live on the edge. nothing like puffing on a cig with a chance a blast of acids gonna cover your face. good way to quit smoking imo.
