Sub placement in single cab pickup?

I have a 83' chevy pickup with bucket seats and I'm trying to build a box for a 10" and I was wondering what the ideal position for the sub would be. I'm going ported, and I know trucks have wierd cancellation issues and I kinda wanna get it right. I was thinking forward firing the sub and the port. Thoughts?

Don't fire both forward. Do sub forward and port either up or to the side.

If possible, sub up and port into the passenger side like RAM said. Should give best gain and performance in the drivers seat.
