Hey guys i was helping my neighbor wire up his amp and sub. It's some shitty off brand amp and a 12" sony xplod sub (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif ) Anyways, i got everything hooked up. The amp has power and turns on only when the headunit is on, but the sub isn't producing any sound. Any help?

I'm thinking it may be a bad ground? Or could a bad fuse be the problem? It's a scosche wiring kit (really cheap) and i don't even know if he gave me a fuse and fuse holder. Like, it had some little box thing that had a big hole on one end and 2 smaller ones on the other. Could the fuse have been in that? Or is that just some splitter thing?

could be a smoked amp.

if the amp comes on (light is on) and no output... i'm going w/ cooked/roasted/burnt/fried amp

and thats a distribution block. no fuse in it if it's the one i'm thinking (about 1" x 2")

what amp? does the light say by it "power - green; protect - red"? and if so, is it green or red?

who, me? I've only done 2 installs on my own car and now my neighbor. I'm no expert at installing crap, which is why i came here for help.

well, he's not talking to me...lol

well it could be the RCA's are bad, the subs wired up wrong or....well lets start from there. best thing to do is take his sub and put it on ur amp and see if it works. then put ur sub on his amp and see if it works. pm me after this...

OR, before you go potentially fuckin up shit...

grab a DMM and get some numbers.

i dont think hes that advanced. so switching a subwoofer would be his best bet. or swing by a local shop and maybe they would lend a helping hand for free.

DMM on speaker leads to ensure sub isn't f'ed up. If it reads normal resistance, problem is most likely elsewhere.

You sure the RCA's are in the right jacks?
