Sub mounting ?'s

I have a new e10k and had a couple questions before I build a box for it. I want to fire it down because it is going under my rear seat in a 98 extended cab gmc. Is 1.5" enough clearance between the mounting surface and the floor? Will screws be strong enough to mount it in 3/4" mdf, or do i need to use tnuts? Do I want the screws to grip the rubber around the sub or just the metal underneath? I think that's all the questions I have for now. Thanks for any help.

Yes, i believe 1.5" would be enough, but i dont know if i would do it or not. Yes, just screw into the 3/4 MDF, and that will be plenty. Make sure you get a good seal in the box and around the sub. You wont need to use nuts, and the screws should go through the hole in the rubber and contact the metal. The screws wont be very visible once you get them down enough.
