I had my stereo turned up while driving. Then all of the sudden the sub started to sound like it had a quarter on top of the dust cap. It only does it at high volume now. But, it has never made this noise before. I originally thought it was the basket not being screwed into the box properly. Has my sub blown? The sub is a AQ Sd2.5.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I checked to see if the motor was lose. It didn't seem to be. Here's a vid of what it sounds like. Can anyone help??
appears that the width="600" height="361" is way to big for any car on the road and that the type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" The Application Failed becuase posting this doesnt allow us to watch the vid

Sorry about that I posted the wrong code.

is the dustcap soft and flimsy? can it be pushed in easily if you push on it with your thumb? even just a little bit. My friends 15" copper hdc has a rock hard looks coated dustcap but my new copper hdc 10 which has what looks like a sdc dustcap on it (smaller than the dustcap pictured on the aq site for 10" hdc) makes the same noise, another member with a "soft" dustcap had similar issues.

The dust cap is actually quite hard.

maybe because your givin it full power free air? what the fuck dont do that shit ha. but my hdc3 had that same mechanical noise. i never figureed it out it may have been the dustcap as mentioned earlier

It wasn't at full power free air. The reason I pulled it out was so the noise could be heard. I tried recording the noise with the sub in the enclosure but the bass overpowered the noise, and it couldn't be heard.

Should I take the dustcap off? And try to fix it?
