Sub in Expedition

My sub in my 97 Ford Expedition sounds like crap now Dose any one know what the specs are for the sub and the amp? Also what is the mount depth for the sub. I took it to get it checked out at the dealer ship and they said it souded ok? I guess they are used to listeng to cheap audio. I love bass in my music and would like to replacedthe sub asap

I think he's referring to the factory 6.5 inch or 8 inch sub in the kick panel in the rear. If that's the case, you want to get rid of that if its blown and buy a 10" sub in a q-logic kick panel that fits in the factory spot for the factory look. some examples...

the problem with that is that he wont be able to keep the factory amp, although the factory one is worthless. screw saving space, make a nice sized sealed box and get an idmax woofer and then you should be happy

Just take the grill out and remove the 6 screw holding it in there.

We replaced the crappy 8" in my boy's expo with a Xsite 8" for S&G, It was louder. But that plastic encloser needs to be glassed to get some strength. It's really easy to replace that speaker.

I have it out now and its a 8" woofer and is single voice coil. Turns out ther is a tear in the foam surround holding the woofer to the metal basket. I would just like to know what is the wattage and independence for the amp if any one knows to match the sub with.

Shes blown to hell, for a direct factory replacment put a 8' Funky pup in there.

No idea on power and ohm. But I hooked the Xsite up @ 8ohms and it bumped pretty good.
