Bigger Box Then Specs

If you were looking at a box for 2 12's and the specs on your 12" subs say u need 1.75 per sub and you have 2 choices of vented boxes to choose from...

1.5 per chamber or 2.0 per chamber which one would you choose to go with and why?

I've allways thought the bigger the box the deeper the bass wil get is this true or no? And I also thought that if you go to small of a box you will get no low deep bass?
