Sub Help

4 more years of hell....
am going to get a Audiobahn A8002T which is 400 RMS x 2 channels at 2 ohms. I am buying 2 Alpine Type S subs, 10 inches, and was wondering if i should be buying them with dual 4 ohm coils, or dual 2 ohm coils. In a previous post, someone told me dual 4 ohms, but then i talked to a friend, and he said that if i did that, i would be running the amps at 1 ohm, which would therefore give my subs too much power. So, please, someone who knows for sure, what do i need to buy for that amp running at 2 ohms..... Alpines with dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm voice coils.

That amp puts out it's rated power, 800 watts, at 4 ohm loads.

Two dual 4 ohms woofers in series-parallel would give you the 4 ohm load you require.

Your friend was counting on a parallel-parallel configuration.
