Hello I need some advice. I am not too familiar with car audio stuff. I have a 6 channel JL Amp. I have from my front and back speakers hooked up to teh 1st 4 channels. I had channels 5 and 6 bridged into 1 jl audio 10" sub. I believe my sub blew so I had a box with 2 MTX 4500 subs in it. My question is should I keep channels 5 and 6 bridged gong into the 2 subs or do I use 1 channel for each sub or just use 1 sub like I have been doing. Any advice is appreciated.

I say wire the two subs to an ohm load then bridge the amp. Unless the amp puts out the same power at any ohm load, then i would go with the each channel to each sub route

To determine the wiring config. You have to know the resistance of the amplifier and the options of loading resistance of the drivers and match them, if possible. The same as the previous post mentioned, if you have a final load of say 2 ohms when the subs are wired in parallel or series/parallel if they are dvcs, but the amp does not provide capability to bridge at 2 ohms, then don't bridge them at 2 ohms. You could wire them series and bridge it that way if the amp allows that resistance as well.

But to keep it simple just remember not to load the amp with a resistance lower than what it is rated for. So, wiring them 2 channel might be the safest option. To check, gives us the sub specs on wiring and amp specs on power ratings and resistance and we can figure all the options here for you.

What about the driver ratings......dual 4 ohm each, dual 2ohm, single 4ohm ,etc?

I just checked. They are single 4. So, your best option is to wire each one to a channel individually. You could wire them series for an 8 ohm load and bridge that as well if you like. Would be great for sound quality, not so much for output, but output can be overrated sometimes as well...its relative to the listeners goals.

And output is really dependand on the enclosure design as well.
