Sub help

I don't know about the amps, but I do know it isn't possible to create a 1-ohm load with two 4-ohm SVC subs, or a single 4-ohm DVC sub. You could, however, with two 4-ohm DVC subs, or a single 2-ohm DVC sub.

I knew there was something familiar about this. We went over some of this before in another thread.

I just looked up the specs. Two of those amps, when strapped, can do 2000w @ 4 ohms, or 3000w at 2 ohms. Doesn't say anything about 1 ohm.

But that's fine. Since you said you're getting a second 4 ohm SVC sub, wire them in parallel, which will give you a 2 ohm load. Then strap the two amps for 3000w of power, which would be 1500w per sub, which is a big jump up from the 500w it's currently getting.

Same sub, still works fine.. But man, I need someone to tune my shit correctly. I went to the store and I got into the fight with the guy. So I don't think hes going to warranty my amp and sub. My amp went into protection like 5 times. My car smelt like shit because of all the smoke.

Is single better? Since I can wire it into 2 ohm when I get 2? I want more power now, but I also want more power later, you guys get me? :\ and how the hell do I hook up my sub to 1 ohm? That even possible?

LMAO, that is so funny. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif

First off, no it is not possible to hook up the sub you currently have to 1 ohm. It's a single voice coil, 4 ohms. 4 ohms is your only option with only one of them. It isn't possible to get more power with just the one sub and one amp you currently have.

However, if you're planning on adding another identical amp and sub, get the amp first. You can strap the two amps, for 2000w of power at 4 ohms, which is too much for your single sub, but you can turn down the gains for 1000w, which is way better than the 500w you're currently getting.

Then, when you add the second sub, wire them in parallel, which when you wire two 4-ohm subs in paralle, gives you a 2-ohm load. Those two amps will put out 3000w into a 2-ohm load, 1500w per sub.

Or maybe sell everything and start over. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

If I go with JL Audio, a 13" w7, its dual 1.5 ohm. What would my amp push out? If I get a new amp, what should I get? How much do you recomend selling my audio system for, AMP,BOX,SUB? Thanks for your help.

Sell the sub on ebay and buy another one, but dual 4-ohm version. I see no reason to sell the amp or box, unless you're wanting to upgrade the amp to something bigger, or the box to a two-sub variety.
