Sub heat and wire

Is is bad if my sub is getting warm, but I don't smell burning coil? Seems like it gets warm easy and when I turn the gain down its not nearly as loud and not pushing the sub like I want, but my voltage stays above 13v always so I dont think im clipping it. The amp is an AQ 2200 and i have it at 1 ohm. Also, what size speaker wire should I use? Right now im using 14 gauge speaker wire. Should I be using like 10 gauge, and is this possibly why the sub is getting hot? I dont see how 10 gauge wire is supposed to work cause it wouldnt fit in the terminals of the sub when I have to wire it up when I have to put 2 runs in each terminals for 1 ohm.

here are my settings:

gain - 3/4

Sub Sonic - 20

Bass Boost - 0

LPF - 110

HPF (on HU) - off

When im driving my voltage stays 13-14v and when i play a song with really low notes it gets hotter quicker. I dont smell any coil burning unless i have it cranked when im just at idle and my voltage drops

the sub is going to get hot no matter what brand

its doing work

work = heat

your voltage sounds to be ok

14ga wire to your sub is more than enough

people like to say to use 8ga but that will be way to much
