Sub firing position in trunk....

I may just leave it as it is.. I am not sure I would want it louder and I KNOW for sure the neighbors don't LOL. I have it hooked up with a bass knob also so he can turn the bass down when he gets into the neighborhood. I just turned the gain down so he can control it better with the RBC-1. It is so loud though it drowns out the care speakers. I have a component set coming to put in the front stage instead of the Infinity 4*6 and 1" tweeters. I plan on runnign these off the jl 300/4. The way it is now the tweeters r running active and the fronts and rears r running off the 300/4.

I wish my dad cared enough about my car audio to buy me a w7 and component sets. AND put it all in for me.
+1 for you.
Same here.... My "father" is a sorry loser who can't keep a job or pass a drug test. At least I was able to learn what NOT to do because of all his failures in life.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

Thanks.. Well what started out as just a cheap system has turned into a little more them I expected LOL.. It was actually fun learning about this stuff and doing the install. So far he has 1/0 wire for big 3 and from the front kinetik to the rear kinetik. Then it goes into a stinger dist block and then to a jl 300/4 and a jl 1000/1. Then as I said he has the 13w7 in a large *** ported box and then 6*9 in the rear and 4*6 and 1" tweeters in the doors. We also did some sound dampening but have more to do for sure. Like I said it has been fun and I think now after doing this I have to do something to one of my vehicles LOL.. Can not let the son get the upper hand on the old man. My sons lucky though hes 17 and I am only 36 and the wife is 37. So I still have a young mind maybe thats why I am so into it. Forgot to mention the little 2 yr old brother LOL. Forgot to say when its hitting hard we are still getting some dimming so I think we need to go to a HO alt also. I did only get 2 800 kinetiks though as like I said the system has grown more then I had planned.. Might just get another 800 and them I am sure we woudl be good to go along with HO alt. Did just pick up some 6.1 Kappa components yesterday to replace the new tweets and 4*6 in the fronts too...

Peace

why not seal it so you get more space in the trunk and spend $60 and get some sound deadener and deaden your trunk you can get a half roll of raamat for around $65 for around 30ft

I have 70 sq foot of deadener still for the car. Its cold here in IL so we are going to do the rest of it when it warms up a little bit.

oh well thats wassup then, IMO sealed should have better response and get lower, wont be as loud as ported but that seems to not be an issue with you. You can also consider turning your gains down on your amp if possible if its shaking your car too much

Yea the gain on the 1000/1 is turned down so he can use the rbc-1 bass knob to turn the bass really low coming home at night in the neighborhood. If he turns it up though it pounds.... He loves it for sure.

****..what an awesome dad haha..13w7 do pound..i have one..but i would like to try other setups.

my sub is sealed and facing back..i would like to try it firing forward but too lazy to move the heavy thing..but will get around to it sooner or later

Yea they are def heavy in a bigass ported box. Now he did not know I got that or the 1000/1 for him so I had to install that huge SOB myself. Did it at night got done at 6am but still no dice, so I finished it a day later the surprise was over but was happy as hell. I could not get it in through the rear had to drop his back seats and work it in that way.. My god I thought I was going to brake a nut doing it too...

YUP, heavy as hell, It took 3 of us to get my fist box in the car and it was 4.25 cubes with two 12's in it. we had to wrestle the SOB to get it to fit...... or not fit.. It was too big. because dude forgot to measure the opening of the trunk. but that thing was amazingly loud on a low end amp. we left it in the back seat. funny sh*t. I think you should just go sealed and give him room for his crap. I would put grills over those subs too.
